Victorian era rare Texas Bowie knife with Nickle Silver handle and engraved blade not supplied with a sheath, very rare and released from a collection.
George Beardshaw was a Sheffield cutler based in Spitalfield Place & Mardcus Street from C1845 to 1881 when his son also George entered the business and the Company became Beardshaw & son. George Senior died in 1884 and his son continued the business until his own death in 1914 aged 56 yrs (see page 70 of Tweedale’s Directory of Sheffield Cutlers 2nd Edition). This is an excellent Victorian era bowie by George Beardshaw.
